Earth Day Asheville Celebration Concert
Music and Dance Party for EVERYONE to Celebrate
Our Clean and Green Future in support of
Asheville GreenWorks
Celebrate Earth Day and dance the night away with Bayou Diesel and Blue Heaven. Get the party started with the sounds of swing from Blue Heaven and then it’s time to ‘let the good times roll’ with great cajun/zydeco from Bayou Diesel. And it’s all for a great cause. Proceeds benefit Asheville Greenworks and our local environment.
Earth Day Asheville, a concert event presented by Clear Channel Radio and Greenlife Grocery, will be a music and dance party for everyone to celebrate our clean and green future in support of Asheville GreenWorks, the local Keep America Beautiful affiliate. The concert, which will raise funds for earth-friendly projects, is scheduled for April 22 from 7:00-11:00p.m. at the Orange Peel. Tickets are available at the Orange Peel website and at the door.
Asheville GreenWorks hosted the first Earth Asheville Concert event in 2008 with a Battle of the Bands contest and fashion show. Building on last year’s success, this year’s event seeks to continue to energize a diverse group of people about Earth Day. “We are hoping this event will draw attention to the need for every one of us to get involved in preserving our natural resources,” said Susan Roderick, executive director of Asheville GreenWorks.
Asheville GreenWorks, formerly known as Quality Forward, celebrated its 35th Anniversary last year of working for a Clean & Green Asheville and Buncombe County. The organization has been instrumental in enhancing Asheville’s natural beauty and quality of life by planting thousands of trees, beautifying city gateways and neighborhoods, picking up tons of litter from our streets and waterways, and promoting recycling and waste management.
